The Sharing Bread initiative is an ambitious response to the crying call to action by God and humanity. When you read the book of Isaiah chapter 58, it is easy to identify the similarities of hardship described in that passage with our world today.
According to the 2022 report by the World Economic Forum, 1 out of 5 people in Africa (278 million people) suffer from chronic hunger. By comparison, only ten percent of the globe’s population is affected by chronic hunger while the continent of Africa alone is double that. The main drivers of hunger include wars, climate change, and the Covid-19 pandemic as reported by the 2021 Welthungerhilfe annual report.
Defeating hunger one community at a time.
To uplift the region of West Africa to a place where hunger no longer exists. To realize this vision, we will provide food aid and community empowerment resources aimed at eliminating undernourishment and child stunting. We recognize that accomplishing this vision will require a strong working partnership with both national and local governments supporting this initiative. We are confident that with our collective efforts, we can significantly impact the lives of people living in West Africa and create a brighter future for generations to come.
