We’re on a journey to defeat hunger, one community at a time. Through Sharing Bread, we provide food aid, empower communities, and share the love of Christ.
Inspired by Isaiah 58, we respond to God’s call to action. In a world where 1 in 5 people face chronic hunger, we believe every gift can make a difference. From Enugu to Tamale, we’ve seen firsthand how your generosity transforms lives.
We envision a West Africa where hunger is a thing of the past. Together, we’re building a future where every child is nourished, and every family thrives.
It is simple and personal: we go where need is greatest, hand-deliver essential food packs with prayer and dignity, and stay long enough to listen, encourage, and point to the hope of Jesus. We partner with local churches and trusted leaders to serve respectfully and efficiently, stewarding every gift so it reaches families quickly.
The streets of Enugu, Nigeria, can be unforgiving—especially for a widow with nowhere
to turn.
When our Sharing Bread Initiative street team encountered her that sweltering afternoon, she sat alone on the roadside, her eyes distant and hollow. Desolate.
Defeated. She had every reason to be.
Just months earlier, her husband had passed away. And in her darkest hour of grief,
instead of comfort, she found cruelty. Her in-laws turned on her—mistreating her,
abusing her, ultimately forcing her from the only home she’d known. With her young
children now staying with neighbors, she wandered the streets that day with a singular,
crushing question weighing on her heart:
“How do I return home to my hungry children who haven’t eaten in days?”
She didn’t know we were coming. She didn’t know that on that very day, a team of
believers—ordinary people empowered by an extraordinary God—would cross her path
carrying more than food. They carried answered prayer.
When we handed her a care package—a 5kg bag of rice, cooking oil, spaghetti, tomato
paste, powdered milk, and cocoa beverage—she broke down. Not in despair this time,
but in joy. In hope. In the overwhelming realization that she had not been forgotten.
Her tears were a testimony: Jesus still sees. Jesus still loves. Jesus still provides.
We stand with families in prayer and presence, guided by compassion and the scriptural
call to care for the vulnerable.
We provide staple foods and essentials through trusted local partners, ensuring dignity
and respect in every interaction.
We expand to communities in need, building stronger networks of support and opportunity for sustainable change.
Tamale and surrounding communities face rising prices and climate-related challenges.
Our work brings immediate relief and renewed hope.
Distributions, prayer outreach, and community support strengthen families across
multiple regions.

Sharing Bread changed how I see poverty. Before I volunteered, I did not know how hard life was for people in forgotten communities. Now I visit those places and meet real people with real needs. We give them bags filled with rice, oil, spaghetti, tomato paste, milk, and cocoa. These items help feed a whole family for a week. Isaiah 58:7 inspires our mission to share food with the hungry. I am so grateful to be part of a team that goes where others will not go. This work opened my heart.
I love serving with Sharing Bread because we go to places many people will not visit. We meet families living in very poor neighborhoods who struggle to find food every day. When I hand them a bag with rice, spaghetti, cooking oil, tomato paste, milk, and cocoa, I see hope return to their eyes. Isaiah 58:7 says to share our food with the hungry. That verse drives everything we do. Every time I volunteer, I feel like I am doing exactly what God called me to do. It fills my heart with so much joy.
I volunteer because I want my children to learn compassion. We pack bags together with rice, spaghetti, cooking oil, tomato paste, milk, and cocoa. Then we take them to very poor areas where families are hungry. My kids see how much a simple bag of food can mean to someone. They learn that helping others matters more than thinking only about ourselves. Isaiah 58:7 reminds us to share our bread with the hungry. Sharing Bread teaches my family to live out that verse every week.
I enjoy volunteering because I get to use my skills to help the very poor. I am good at organizing, so I help sort and pack bags with rice, spaghetti, cooking oil, tomato paste, milk, and cocoa. Knowing my talents help feed hungry families makes me feel valuable. We go into communities most people ignore. Isaiah 58:7 calls us to share our food with the hungry, and that is exactly what we do. Sharing Bread showed me that everyone has something to give, no matter how small.
What I love most is the people I serve alongside. We laugh, pray, and work hard together. Then we go into very poor neighborhoods and hand out bags filled with rice, spaghetti, oil, tomato paste, milk, and cocoa. One woman told us we were an answer to her prayers. She had no food for her children that day. Hearing her story changed me forever. Isaiah 58:7 says to share our bread with the hungry. That verse is why we do this work, and it keeps me coming back.
I volunteer with Sharing Bread because my faith calls me to love others. Isaiah 58:7 says to share food with the hungry and bring relief to the poor. That is our mission. We go to places many people will not visit and give bags filled with rice, spaghetti, cooking oil, tomato paste, milk, and cocoa. When I hand someone a bag, I feel like I am living out my faith. It is hard work, but it is always worth it. I leave every time feeling closer to God.
